General Li Genyuan was the commander of the Yunnan New Army at that time. He had studied overseas in Germany before returning to China and was a young and energetic general. He regarded himself a strong believer of science and perceived Buddhism as superstition. He wanted very much to have Buddhism removed. Because of that, he came up with the excuse that there were tens of thousands of monks in Mount Jizhu and they might organize armed resistance. Therefore, he personally led his troops to Mount Jizhu. On their way, the several thousands of officers and soldiers were demolishing temples and arresting monks.

When Elder Monk Xu Yun, abbot of Zhu Sheng Temple in Mount Jizhu, heard about this, he decided to come down from the mountain in person to persuade Li Genyuan to stop. When Li Genyuan saw this thin yet spirited elder monk who had his long beard hanging down, noticing Xu Yun’s uncommon grace and peaceful and calm manner, he was spontaneously startled, “Oh! This is Xu Yun. He does have a little uncommon demeanor!”

Li Genyuan harshly shouted, “I want to catch you. Now you even dare send yourself to me! Maybe you label yourself as not fearing death. Let me ask you, how many lives do you have?”

Xu Yun kept his head up and replied calmly, “Great Commander, I, Xu Yun, have only one life. Also, I am not any hero or brave man who does not fear death. I am just a monastic person. Today, I do not shy away from your killing weapons and risk my death to meet you, Great Commander. My purpose is to beseech an order from you, Great Commander, to save Buddhism. I ask you, Great Commander, to immediately stop demolishing temples and destroying Buddhism.”

“Are you really not afraid of death?” Li Genyuan had a cold smile.

Xu Yun did not have the slightest fear on his face and smiled gently and calmly, “I, Xu Yun, have made up my determination to die for Buddhism long ago. If, before my death, you, Great Commander, can give me an opportunity to state my cause clearly and stop doing damages to Buddhism in the future, I am willing to die.”

Li Genyuan spoke coldly, “You answer me first. You kept saying wanting to die for Buddhism and tell me not to destroy Buddhism. Let me ask you. What benefit does Buddhism have?”

Xu Yun replied with a smile, “The Buddha established Buddhism to advocate great love and great compassion, serve the world and benefit the population, and broadly save living beings from suffering and hardship. Buddhism persuade and transform people in the world to do goodness and remove evil, cultivate conduct and virtue, and save oneself as well as others. Buddhism first teaches people to cure their minds. The mind is the source and origin of all afflictions. Once the origin is correct, all things can be in serenity and peace will be everywhere. The world will be calm and peaceful.”

Li Genyuan’s face turned a little milder, “I admit that you have good eloquence of debate. However, what is the use of these statues sculpted with mud and carved from wood? These statues lead people into superstition for nothing!”

Xu Yun stated calmly, solemnly, and respectfully, “The Buddha spoke about the appearance of Buddha-dharma. The appearance is to express the dharma. Not expressing with appearance, the dharma cannot be publicized. The Buddha statues made of sculptures are to symbolize the Buddha’s solemn elegance and loving compassion, to let people generate homage, confidence, and respectful fear from viewing. Without respectful fear in mind, people will do all kinds of malicious acts, thereby creating calamities and upheavals. Even if we just talk about customs in the world, examples are Confucius’ statue in his temple at Mount Ni, an ancient person named Ding Lan carved wood statues of his parents to repent for not being filial enough earlier, worshipping ancestors in ancestral temples by all clans in China, and bronze statues seen in all Western countries. All are for the purpose of letting people view and generate respect and faith. Buddha statues are sculpted with mud and carved from wood. However, what we respect and pay homage to are not the materials of earth and wood. Rather, we respect and pay homage to the symbolized Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with great love and great compassion. As a result, thoughts of all kinds can develop in the mind to induce us to save ourselves and save others. The enthusiasm of respect and faith arises from seeing Buddha statues. The merit and effect are inconceivable!”

Li Genyuan nodded, “It does sound reasonable, hearing what you said. However, my mind does not submit to that. You monks talk about cause and effect and talk about samsara (transmigration). These superstitious views and concepts are elusive without bases in science. I studied science and military in the West. I despise these old superstitions the most. That is why I am determined to uproot them. I would like to hear how you can skillfully argue about that.”

Xu Yun smiled, “First, I need to explain what superstition is. The so-called superstition refers to blindly following and obeying without clearly understanding the truth and knowing the ultimate reason and, moreover, without distinguishing good or bad and upright from evil. Examples are, killing people to sacrifice for evil deities, slaughtering cattle, sheep, chicken, duck, or other lives to worship ghosts and gods, presenting gold and silver to bribe and beg ghosts and gods for blessing wealth, engaging in sexual misconduct to please demonic ghosts and demonic deities, using ghosts and deities as excuses to raise money with selfish purposes, mocking ghosts and deities to carry out despicably intolerable malicious conduct or direct people to do things violating loyalty, trust, and benevolence, teaching people to steal, rape, and kill, teaching people to commit fraud and extortion, and encouraging cruelty and disorder. All acts of these types belong to superstition! If a faith teaches people with loyalty, filial act, benevolence, and love, advocates faith, trust, and peace, praise and spread etiquette, firmly cultivate humility, promote great love and great compassion of Buddhism, broadly save living beings to leave suffering and hardship to arrive at bliss and peace, teach people in the world to help and support each other with loving compassion, use loving compassion, benevolence, and virtue to teach and transform the world, pursue goodness and break away from malicious deeds, and take refuge in correct teaching and abandon evil dogmas, how can superstition come from such correct faith and correct wisdom?”

Li Genyuan quietly listened and the cruel and offending expression on his face gradually disappeared. He said, “Elder Monk, these statements are truly reasonable! However, you did not explain cause and effect and samsara clearly. These do not agree with science!”

Xu Yun said, “The so-called science is the accumulation and investigation of the wisdom and knowledge of humanity. The approach is inheriting from the past and developing the future, knowing the past to probe the future, and using what is known to investigate and validate the unknown. The learning from such investigation and validation never stops or stays at the same place. People must quest and probe incessantly. Only that is the true spirit of science! The scientific knowledge at the current time is of course greatly advanced from that of the ancient and middle ages. However, does that mean there is nothing unknown already? Does that mean we have completely understood all subtleties and secrets of the universe?”

Li Genyuan said, “Of course we have not been able to do that yet.”

Xu Yun smiled, “Sutras of Buddhism already studied the genuine knowledge exhaustively several thousand years ago. It has been known that the universe never ends through all lifetimes. Matters in existence will annihilate and will be reborn after annihilation, in different shape and state. It is just a process of transforming between different form bodies. On the other hand, only in the current era, Western scientists stated the law of matter’s conservation. Buddhist sutras stated the world’s continuity and living beings’ continuity long ago. These agree completely with the law of physics of the universe. Why do you say the concept of samsara is not scientific?”

Li Genyuan asked, “What do these have to do with samsara and cause and effect?”

Xu Yun said, “The law of cause and effect is the law and principle governing the cycle of the universe! All things must first have the causes of birth and annihilation and then have the consequences. This is the cycle from the law of cause and effect! All sentient beings have wisdom and power of consciousness. After the death of the physical body, the power of consciousness still exists, which is the soul that worldly people talk about. A person who cultivates, practices, and carries out good conduct has a concentrated mind and calmed spirit and knows to go toward goodness and avoid calamity by instinct. Focusing the mind to chant Amitabha Buddha’s name will let one to know about going to the World of Ultimate Bliss. If this person practices good conduct, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will naturally come to receive him. Conversely, if a person has done a lot of malicious acts and evil deeds and has a surly, hostile, and unkind mind nature, then his conscience is closed and his wisdom is also all lost. That means his power of consciousness and soul also got lost. Moreover, because he does not know chanting the Buddha’s name, he will naturally devolve. With a muddled head and not knowing the direction, he can only follow his karmas to transmigrate and cannot get out. Consequently, he has to suffer life after life and also has to pay back for his earlier malicious acts. This is the law and principle of the universe. Things all have coming and going and undergo the never-ending cycle. What is unscientific in the law of cause and effect and samsara?”

Hearing this, Li Genyuan was horrified. He was sweating all over but felt chilling to the bone. He was extremely moved and said sincerely, “Elder Master Xu, hearing this speech from you is more beneficial than studying in school for ten years to me, your disciple! I, your disciple, studied overseas in the West and only learned some skin-deep and hair-thin science. I really do not know the profound principles of the universe and even absurdly wanted to destroy Buddhism! From listening to your teaching and discourse, I am now completely clear. I ask you, Elder Master Xu, to allow me to take refuge before you to become a Buddhist disciple!”

Xu Yun smiled, “Great Commander, please get up. Since you, Great Commander, have become clear and have the determination to believe in Buddhism, this shows you, Great Commander, still has a very deep root of goodness and can realize the truth quickly. However, please first develop more opportunities to get close to Buddha-dharma and let real faith develop in your mind and become firm and unmovable, the matter of taking refuge can be talked about after that.”

Li Genyuan immediately said, “Elder Master Xu, please do not call me, your disciple, great commander anymore. Even though you, Elder Master Xu, do not want to accept me as your disciple today, I, your disciple, have already submitted to you in my mind. Please call me by name directly.”

In that evening, Li Genyuan gave the order to light up candles to talk with Xu Yun at night about the principles of Buddhism. From the clear manifestation of the law of cause and effect to the inter-webbed net of karmas, consequences of karmas and karmic conditions, the continuity of the world, the continuity of living beings, and other fundamental principles of Buddhism, and to the profound axioms in Buddhist sutras, Xu Yun introduced the profundity of the universe. Li Genyuan was completely convinced and had full admiration. They spoke until after midnight and were very high-spirited.

Li Genyuan sighed, “Without hearing Elder Master Xu’s earnest teaching and explanation today, I really do not know the fact that the principles of Buddhism and Buddha-dharma are so broad, great, and profound. I now have the complete faith and submission! I am determined to take refuge in Buddha-dharma.”

The next morning, Li Genyuan personally guarded Xu Yun to return to the temple. Wearing his military uniform indicating a general’s rank, Li Genyuan led the horse in person. Xu Yun, who was 72 years old, was sitting on the horse. They slowly walked to the temple’s gate. Behind them were several dozens of horse-riding guarding officers. With the shining Sun, golden light appeared from the mountain. Starting from the mountain top and coming downward, trees and grasses were covered with golden color. The scene of the entire mountain shining golden light was extremely splendid and solemn.

A Great Miraculous Transformation Manifested by Holy Monk’s Flesh Body Created a New Chapter on Nirvana in the History of Buddhism

——Recording my real experience of attending the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions for celebrating the nirvana of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai

I am so fortunate in my current lifetime. The karmic affinity formed through many lifetimes and eons enabled me to attend the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions held after the nirvana of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai who was the world’s top-level holy monk. After the Elder Dharma Master’s nirvana, Buddhist disciples not only took shifts to guard in front of the Elder Dharma Master’s flesh body and chant the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva without interruption but also held three grand dharma assemblies every day until the perfect conclusion of the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions. I attended my shift of chanting and the three dharma assemblies every day without missing even one session. To benefit living beings, I now tell people in the world about the unprecedented and world-astounding holy feats manifested by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai that I witnessed in person.

I am a rinpoche and I know that I must follow the Buddha’s teaching and cannot speak falsely to deceive living beings. Before all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, I give my truthful accounts in the following:

On December 30, 2016, when concluding the examination in the holy realm held by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), the great holy virtuous one leading the dharma Wang Zha Shang Zun made this prediction publicly, “A holy monk whose nine precept-scars once emitted light to break the darkness in a closed room, who is the foremost holy monk in the world, and whom I respect the most will leave us in January next year. He will create an unprecedented holy manifestation in the history of Buddhism. This will be a great happy event and should be joyfully celebrated.”

What I could never imagine is that the tremendously great accomplishment of this top-level foremost holy monk in the world is so astonishing to the heaven and human realms and ground-shaking to this earthly world!

To celebrate the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day, we held a ceremony to release living beings in captivity and then respectively listened to a recorded magnificent dharma discourse on January 15, 2017. Right after the celebration had ended, we received a notice and immediately went to where Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai was stationed. We saw that the Elder Dharma Master entered nirvana in a sitting state of concentration. After chanting sutras, mantras, and the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva, we respectfully viewed His holy appearance. The Elder Dharma Master’s holy face looked thin and aged, with sunken cheeks, a sparse beard, and wrinkles all over the face (Please see the Elder Dharma Master’s photo taken at 11 hours after entering nirvana that can be respectfully requested from WBAH.) Could it be that this holy monk of the current era has left the world in this way? No, this was just the beginning of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s manifestation of His tremendously great and world-unparalleled accomplishment!

Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai is a disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the Chief Teacher of the Tripitaka of sutras, vinayas, and shastras (commentaries) at WBAH. The Elder Dharma Master lived a private life in profound cultivation and practice. His conduct demonstrated noble and pure great compassion and bodhicitta, had nothing to do with fame and gain, and was not tainted by worldly dusts. His virtue and realization were immeasurably high and profound. Many abbots of famous temples and eminent monks of the current time are His disciples. However, because revered Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai did not touch worldly dusts and lived a great hidden life in the world, it was difficult for people in the world to have the affinity to hear His holy name.

In the evening of the same day, Buddhist disciples of the seven types as well as the professionals working at the Universal Chung Wah Funeral Home respectfully escorted the holy body of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai to the funeral home. At night, several dharma brothers and I who are rinpoches guarded the holy body while chanting the holy name of “Namo Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva” throughout the night. At 6 o’clock in the morning of the next day, the Elder Dharma Master’s holy body was handed over to the funeral home to carry out the process required by law. After completing the legal procedures, WBAH made the arrangement to hold grand dharma assemblies in the morning, at noon and in the evening every day. Additionally, Buddhist disciples guarded in front of the Elder Dharma Master’s holy body at any time day and night. Each shift was staffed by quite a few disciples, who chanted the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva without a pause.

On the third day after the Elder Dharma Master’s entering nirvana, when I was in the shift of chanting, I was able to view closely and saw that the Elder Dharma Master looked pale.

On the fifth night, other dharma brothers and I on the same shift noticed that, although the Elder Dharma Master still looked thin, His facial complexion was no longer so pale. The two cheeks of the Elder Dharma Master revealed a somewhat ruddy air. That was quite different from the common phenomena seen after one’s death when the facial color turns worse and the muscles become loosen or dropsy.

The next day, we received a notice from the funeral home. Due to the limited number of ceremonial halls they have, they could no longer provide a space for us to continue the Buddhist ceremony there for an extended period. Therefore, they agreed that we could receive the Elder Dharma Master’s flesh body back to the temple to continue the unfinished Buddhist ceremony. Thus, On the ninth day after the Elder Dharma Master’s nirvana and after the funeral home had provided the legal documentation, we received the holy body of the revered Elder Monk Yin Hai back to the temple to rest for worshipping in the Kuan Yin Hall that had been consecrated earlier by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in person. Also, a transparent encasement was placed on top of the open coffin, to prevent the stinky and filthy air dispersed by ordinary persons from contaminating the holy body.

During the dharma assembly held on that night, many dharma brothers and sisters and I smelled special fragrant scent. Some saw that light was emitted in the hall. That was very auspicious and magnificent, as if being in a holy state of manifested land! There was also something that I must mention. On that night when I was viewing the holy body respectfully, I unintentionally found that revered Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s two hands appeared like a sculpture of white jade, dispersing the sense of texture and lust that only jade stones possess! I thought, how could the hands of a person have the sense of texture of stone? At that time, I really could not understand the cause of such peculiar and rare phenomena. I was only dawned afterwards that it was because the flesh body of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai was undergoing a total transformation inside and out.

On the eleventh night after the Elder Dharma Master‘s nirvana, before the dharma assembly started, chairperson of the International Buddhism Sangha Association (IBSA) Dharma Master Long Hui and the abbot of the True Buddha-Dharma Center and the Pagoda Temple Venerable Xiangge Qiongwa together announced an astonishingly great news. Earlier, with the permission from His Holiness the Buddha, Dharma Master Jue Hui, Dharma Master Long Hui, Venerable Xiangge Qiongwa, Venerable Long Zhou, Dharma Master Ruo Hui, and Dharma Master Miao Kong used their hands to touch and press the Holy Venerable One’s flesh body. They found that the Elder Dharma Master‘s flesh body was as firm and hard as a stone. Even the typically softest spots on the cheek was extremely firm and hard. The crowd immediately prostrated to pay respect. They were full of praises for witnessing the indisputable feat of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s accomplishment of an incorruptible Vajra body after entering nirvana.

More than 20 days after the Elder Dharma Master‘s entering nirvana, all monastics, rinpoches, laypersons, and I at the site formed a line to respectfully view the holy body one by one. When I got closer to view at an intimate distance, I could not even believe what I saw before my eyes. The holy monk in my eyesight truly stunned me greatly!

The Elder Dharma Master’s appearance underwent a vivid and complete miraculous transformation: the wrinkles that were all over the face at the time of entering nirvana disappeared; the originally thin bone frame and concave muscles became moisty, lustrous, and full and filled; the spiritual expression between eyebrows seemed to emit light; His nose ridge became straightly higher and wider; the originally sparse beard grew thick and dense; and even the fingers and fingernails had grown longer!

Before my eyes, the holy appearance of the Elder Dharma Master became very perfect and majestic and extremely magnificent. That was completely another person (See the two contrasting visages taken after Holy Monk Yin Hai had entered nirvana. The two photos can be respectfully requested from WBAH.) This fact validated the forecast by Wang Zha Shang Zun!

This holy feat that was never manifested by any holy one in history broke the record about nirvana in the history of Buddhism and is so inconceivable. But, it was right before my eyes! Still, this is the fact. After the Elder Dharma Master had entered nirvana, His flesh body was guarded by Buddhist disciples of the seven types day and night. They staffed in shifts to chant holy names and stayed at the scene all times. Altogether, there were more than 100 monastics, rinpoches, and laypersons who witnessed the process of this holy state.

Wang Zha Shang Zun who is at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 said that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai is the foremost holy monk in the world and is respected by Him the most. The Elder Dharma Master’s holy realization and cultivated power are very great and strong. In His early years, the Shang Zun practiced the dharma together with Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai in a cave in a deep mountain. Wang Zha Shang Zun once accidentally saw that the nine precept-scars on top of the Elder Dharma Master’s head emitted light rays that illuminated the completely dark retreat chamber as if it was under open daylight to instantly save living beings of non-human realms to higher realms. This was a holy feat that occurred in the early years. In later years, He followed the Elder Dharma Master to become a disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and was taught by His Holiness the Buddha in person and was conferred the highest supreme initiations. That was why, after the revered Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai had entered nirvana, Wang Zha Shang Zun specifically wrote a Verse of Praise:

“The merit of Monk Yin Hai shines splendidly the sky and the ground. The nine holes of His precept-scars once emitted light to illuminate a dark retreat room. This greatly compassionate and accomplished one cultivating in seclusion has left His name to the world. Following His wish, He has returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the World of Ultimate Bliss. After entering nirvana, the flesh body of this holy venerable one will undergo a miraculous transformation. A new holy chapter of nirvana will be written in the history of Buddhism. In the past He and I practiced together in retreat in a cave in a deep mountain. Later we both went to the teaching of true Buddha-dharma and became close to the Buddha. Written by Buddhist Disciple and Humble Bhiksu Wang Zha Gong Bo, February 15, 2017”

The karmic condition arising from Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s nirvana caused the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions. The merit generated from attending the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions is tremendously great and far exceeds the merit from attending ordinary dharma assemblies. Wang Zha Shang Zun announced that those who attended the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions perfectly have the qualification to be promoted on one’s grade and to receive the Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam. This is the reward of kindness, virtue, and good fortune that the Holy Venerable One’s nirvana brought to them.

Since the Elder Dharma Master is a top-level holy monk of last several thousand years, presenting the offerings of performing Buddha-dharma with respect to the holy days following the Elder Dharma Master’s nirvana including chanting sutras, chanting Buddhas’ names, practicing mantras, dharma practice, dedicating merit and so on will invoke tremendously great merit to return. Such merit is bestowed from the blessing given by the Elder Dharma Master who is a tremendously holy one on the spot!

I am boundlessly grateful to Elder Dharma Master’s blessing on the spot that bestowed living beings good fortune and beneficial gains in their resources for cultivation. The holy feat of miraculous great transformation manifested by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai after entering nirvana created a new chapter in the history of Buddhism of this earthly world and demonstrated unprecedented accomplishment of holy state. Why is it called creating a new chapter in the history of Buddhism on nirvana?

First, the flesh body underwent a miraculous great transformation starting from the tenth day after Elder Dharma Master had entered nirvana. After that, His visage was magnificently majestic as if having become a completely different person.

Anyone who knows only a little about the medical science of human body would know that the blood will dry up after one’s death and the muscles will lose elasticity and become loose. Additionally, the skin will turn withered and lifeless, the internal organs will corrupt, and the body will emit stinky smell of spoiling. The appearance and state of a dead person can only become more and more miserable and more and more ugly. It has never been seen that a person looks more adorned and has better looking after death. Ten days after entering nirvana, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s facial appearance showed a miraculous great transformation. A bony and aged face with concave cheeks and covered with wrinkles totally changed into magnificent appearance that was moisty and lustrous with full cheeks. The contrasting photos taken before and after the change look like two different persons!

Secondly, 11 days after entering nirvana, the flesh body of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai became as hard as a rock, demonstrating the accomplishment of an incorruptible Vajra body.

Patriarchs of past generations who accomplished an incorruptible flesh body generally had to go through a process of sealing the body inside an upside-down large vase for three years to rid of the fluid within the body. Then the vase is lifted. Only if the body did not spoil and the bone frame did not break, can the accomplishment of an incorruptible flesh body be determined. On the other hand, the situation of accomplishing an incorruptible Vajra body 11 days after entering nirvana is never heard about and absolutely unprecedented! Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai demonstrated His freedom from birth and death as He entered nirvana in an instant. Then, 11 days after, His entire body was as hard as a stone, manifesting the tremendously great accomplishment of realizing an incorruptible whole-body Vajra relic and creating a holy feat unprecedented in the entire history of Buddhism.

Thirdly, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai‘s fingers, fingernails, and beard continued to grow after His nirvana. And there were three new black strains grown from His beard.

While the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions was in session, the professionals from the Universal Chung Wah Funeral Home came to our worshipping hall to perform service on Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai‘s body. They were greatly astounded upon seeing the Elder Monk’s holy body! They said that they had never seen or even heard such a thing. More than 20 days after entering nirvana, not only the wrinkles on the face disappeared, but also the bone frame and muscles became full and filled. The fingers and fingernails also grew longer. One of the professionals was very surprised and said after viewing Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai‘s holy appearance carefully and closely, “I know very clearly that the beard was sparse and completely white before. Now, not only the beard had grown longer, but also three black strains have grown from it!” They praised that the Elder Monk’s cultivation and practice were so great and amazing. They also repeatedly stated that this event was the most mysterious, the most miraculous, and the most inconceivable fact that they had experienced since the founding of the funeral home. The fact created a new record in their professional experience of many years and also proved that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai created the first such holy manifestation in the history of Buddhism.

Wang Zha Shang Zun said that Holy Monk Yin Hai is a greatly accomplished one in the dharma of “Red Kuan Yin of Magnificent Ocean of Great Compassion practiced with The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation.” He is a great holy one who came again from the World of Ultimate Bliss to fulfill His vow and has now returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the Pure Land. Though the Holy Monk has left, He established tremendously great merit and record for Buddhism with His flesh body after entering nirvana. This is a holy event that has never occurred before in history.

The miraculous great transformation manifested by the flesh body of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai after He had entered nirvana proved that He is a top-level holy monk in the history of Buddhism. Furthermore, the source of the dharma that enabled the Elder Dharma Master to attain great accomplishment from His cultivation and practice is from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Through His state of accomplishment realized from learning the Buddha-dharma from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, the Elder Dharma Master proved the utmost supreme status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and let people in the world know that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the source of the true dharma of the Tathagata leading to liberation and accomplishment in the current world.

In this dharma-ending era that is full of chaos and confusion, the Elder Dharma Master ignited the hope for living beings’ accomplishment and liberation in this earthly world. This will cause countless living beings to make their clear and pure vow to pursue liberation. Demonstrating the source of true Buddha-dharma and bestowing good fortune to living beings, the merit of the Elder Dharma Master is so great!

My above-stated personal experience is a true account of real events without anything untrue. Elder Monk Yin Hai’s accomplishment and holy feats that shine splendidly through history are indisputable facts. However, there are still vicious persons and swindlers of demonic nature who make slandering attacks that are completely baseless. They have the ulterior motive of cutting off living beings good roots and opportunities to acquire wisdom. What they do is truly despicable. Cultivators must not be deceived by them, otherwise they will lose their affinity with the supreme dharma that is difficult to encounter even in many eons.

I now take this oath before all Buddhas in the ten directions, “If I spoke falsely about Elder Monk Yin Hai’s holy feat of miraculous great transformation that took place in His flesh body after He had entered nirvana, I will encounter malicious retribution and will not become accomplished. If what I said is true, may living beings and I acquire perfect good fortune and wisdom and attain great accomplishment and great liberation!”

I now make this vow: I dedicate all my merit from perfectly attending the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions to all living beings who see and hear about this article. May they give rise to clear and pure confidence and learn and practice the true dharma of the Tathagata from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, to increase their good fortune and wisdom, become liberated from transmigration, and forever leave all sufferings!

Meeting the Karmic Condition of the “Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions”

after Fulfilling My Vow of Becoming a Monastic

On January 15, 2017, I attended the annual celebration of “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day” held by the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. After the celebration, we monastics suddenly received a notice to be prepared for holding Buddhist ceremonies. When we arrived at the site, we learned that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai (also known as Master Xiao Ming), who was the Chief Teacher of Tripitaka of Sutras, Vinayas, and Shastras of the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), had entered nirvana in a sitting position with perfect merit and cultivation!

In my memory, there were many times when I stood in front of the billboard at the Sanger Mission viewing a photo that caught my attention. In that picture, many monastics and rinpoches were standing around a loving, kind, and amicable elderly one. This revered elderly one is Master Xiao Ming, the great holy venerable Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai. I had already heard about some uncommon true stories about the Elder Dharma Master. At that time, I could only generate my respect in my heart and dared not have an intention of getting closer to Him. I could never imagined that the first meeting I have now is also the last time. The Elder Dharma Master left us. Now, living beings and I have lost a respected great teacher, and this world has lost a top-level great holy monk. I truly wish the current situation had not occurred.

After Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s holy body was rested for worshipping at the funeral home, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH) scheduled Buddhist disciples to guard in front of the Elder Dharma Master’s flesh body day and night. They chanted the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva in shifts without a pause. Also, three grand dharma assemblies were held at three fixed times every day. Every day, in addition to attending the three dharma assemblies, I also chanted the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva with quite a few dharma brothers at the fixed time of 1am after midnight. During this period, the Elder Dharma Master’s revered face appeared dried, thin and aged, with concave cheeks and deep wrinkles. Occasionally, a silly idea would emerge from my mentality of an ordinary person, “Why is the nirvana of a holy monk so commonplace? Can ordinary persons like me do the Buddhist work for the holy monk?”

A few days later, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s holy body was welcomed back to the temple and rested at the Kuan Yin Hall for worshipping. Buddhist disciples continued chanting the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva day and night without interruption. Not long after that, Buddhist disciples performing the rituals of the dharma at the site noticed that the Elder Dharma Master began a total transformation in His body. The flesh body manifested miraculous changes day by day. Some people also saw the emission of light and/or smelled special fragrant scent.

On the 11th day after the Elder Dharma Master’s entering nirvana, several dharma masters and rinpoches received a permission from His Holiness the Buddha to touch and press the holy monk’s flesh body. They found that the body was as hard as a stone. All of them were greatly astounded and prostrated to pay respect. They were full of praises and shared their experience with everyone, “The Holy Venerable’s revered body has accomplished a Vajra uncorrupted body.” Upon hearing that, all Buddhist disciples who were present were full of the joy of the dharma.

Every day after midnight, when the dharma brothers and I were chanting the holy name of the Bodhisattva, the spot I stood allowed me to see the Elder Dharma Master’s face directly most of the time. Therefore, I was able to see more clearly the miraculous transformation taking place day by day. From time to time, dharma brothers signaled one another by eyes, “Look, the holy body changed again!”

Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s holy body exhibited a calm and peaceful expression, as if He was in a state of concentration. A few days later, all wrinkles on His face disappeared and the facial complexion turned from pale to moistly ruddy. Lust was seen from the muscles and the bone frame became full and filled. The entire appearance turned more and more magnificent and majestic. Even the beard grew longer and denser and had new strains grown. The situation was truly inconceivable!

People all know that all body functions stop after one’s death. Muscles would immediately become loose and lessened and all organs would gradually corrupt and decay. The body would then spread very stinky smells. The situation can only become more and more terrible and could never turn into a better look. This was always true when I saw the remains of my relatives and friends in the past. As I was with the Elder Dharma Master’s holy body every day and facing the holy feat of such miraculous transformation occurring from the Ender Monk’s flesh body after entering nirvana, I now understood. I felt ashamed of my ignorance and repented the stupid idea I had before.

The holy feat of miraculous transformation manifested by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai after entering nirvana is an unprecedented holy event and created a new record on nirvana in the history of Buddhism. The Elder Dharma Master is a top-level holy monk through the last several thousand years. The source of His dharma came from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. By practicing the Buddha-dharma from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, He realized tremendously great accomplishment that is unparalleled in the world. To tell the truth clearly, ordinary persons like me cannot even compare to a thin strain of hair of the Elder Dharma Master. How could we have any qualification to perform the dharma ritual for the holy monk? What we did was presenting the offering of practicing the dharma through chanting sutras, mantras, and holy names and dedicating the merit to receive the merit returned to us from the empowerment bestowed by the holy monk at the site!

During the dharma assembly, Wang Zha Shang Zun who is at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 made the announcement, “The Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions is not an ordinary dharma assembly. Those who attended the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions have tremendously great merit and have the qualification to promote one’s grade level and to receive the Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam.”

When I heard this most exciting happy news, my emotion was extremely high. I am very grateful to Holy Venerable Yin Hai for empowering us at the site with tremendously great power of merit. This short period of attending the holy assembly bestowed me such magnificent reward of good fortune to receive in this lifetime the Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam that otherwise would not be possible even after practicing Buddha-dharma for hundreds of lifetimes!

Now that the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions has been perfectly concluded. I thought back what I experienced carefully. What virtue or ability did I possess for me to have such great good fortune and karmic condition to attend the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions? That was due to the vow I made three years ago to become a monastic to join the sangha and learn true Buddha-dharma for attaining liberation and accomplishment. I also wanted to devote myself to bear the undertaking of the Tathagata. As a result, I gave up the worldly life and came to America to learn Buddhism. Only because of that, I had the magnificent karmic condition to witness the holy feat of the great miraculous transformation manifested by Holy Monk Yin Hai after His entering nirvana and to attend the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions!

Elder Monk Yin Hai Created an Unprecedented Holy Manifestation in the History of Buddhism after His Entering Nirvana

Record of Vajra Sharira Has Now Been Created in the History of Buddhism, from the Holy Manifestation and Anecdotes of Elder Monk Yin Hai

It has been several months since the unprecedented and greatest holy feat started to be spread by praises in the Buddhist World! In December last year, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai informed His disciples ahead of time that He was about to enter nirvana. Based on the Elder Dharma Master’s causes and affinities, the condition for a holy assembly of 100 sessions would mature at the time of His entering nirvana. This holy assembly could not be decided by human actions, nor could it be determined by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai or a Buddha at a higher level. Such holy assembly is due to the rising of the causes and affinities of a kind of great event. Exactly as forecasted, on January 15, 2017 and in the state of California of the United States, the Elder Dharma Master instantly entered nirvana in a state that was completely free of any symptom of illness and accomplished an incorruptible Vajra body. Ten days later, the Elder Dharma Master’s holy flesh body manifested a miraculous transformation, which created a new chapter in the history of Buddhism. The Elder Dharma Master was the chief teacher of the Tripitaka of sutras, vinayas, and shastras (commentaries) at the United International World Buddhism Association Headquarters (UIWBAH, now the name has been changed to the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH)). The magnificent situation manifested when He entered the nirvana is compatible to the Elder Dharma Master’s realization and status: a Yu Zun at the level of Golden Button Grade 4. His dharma throne has now returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the Pure Land.

The two contrasting photos of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s flesh body, with one taken at 11 hours after the nirvana showing deep wrinkles on a dry, thin, and very aged face and the other taken on the 24th day after the nirvana that presented a fully-figured, smooth, lustrous, and perfectly majestic visage. A miraculous transformation took place that caused the two pictures to look like two completely different persons. This is the first Vajra-relic flesh-body remains ever known in the history of Buddhism.

Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai was a hidden practitioner in great cultivation. Still, many abbots of temples and monasteries possessing rather high realizations were His disciples. Wang Zha Shang Zun, who leads the dharma affairs at UIWBAH and served as the chief proctor in the examination held recently by UIWBAH, is also His disciple. The examination in the holy realm using the Vajra Battle Position was a dharma transmitted from Yin Hai Yu Zun (aka Tai Zun) to Wang Zha Shang Zun. Several decades ago, the Elder Dharma Master traveled west and moved to the United States to cultivate and practice privately. The accomplishment He realized from cultivation and practice manifested publicly before numerous Buddhist disciples. The magnificent manifestation from the scene of His nirvana provided a way to broadly save living beings and point them toward the path of accomplishing Buddha-hood. Moreover, His magnificent accomplishment and holy feats also showed that the dharma He learned from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is utmost high and the holiest.

More than 10 years ago, due to the retribution manifested from causes and effects of past lifetimes, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s foot tenderloins were cut and severed. He died of excessive bleeding but revived five days later. After coming back to life, the first sentence He spoke was, “There must not be any action to hurt those who harmed me.” This is exactly the mind and conduct of clearly believing in the law of cause and effect and practicing and carrying out the Most Excellent Enlightenment Emptiness-Practice Oceanic Mind Essence in the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation with tremendously great compassion and selflessness. However, with a special empowerment by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, the foot tenderloins grew back to normal on the same day. On the spot, the Elder Monk even held up a person weighing close to 150 pounds and walked several steps while carrying the person. After that, He was able to walk a distance while carrying a load. The expedient recovery can truly be described as “miraculously fast.” In January this year, Holy Monk Yin Hai entered nirvana again, with a forecast made one month before then. On December 30 of last year, Wang Zha Shang Zun, the chief abbot and chief proctor of UIWBAH, stated to the public in His remarks concluding the examination in the holy realm, “I first congratulate the Buddhists possessing master’s qualification who passed the examination and received their grade levels. This is a holy event to be heard happily. However, I will also announce a holy event of sorrow. A holy monk whose nine precept-scars once emitted light to break the darkness in a closed room, who is the foremost holy monk in the world, and whom I respect the most will leave us in January next year. He will create an unprecedented holy manifestation in the history of Buddhism. This will be a great happy event and should be joyfully celebrated!”

You can all ponder the significance of this. How can severed foot tenderloins grew back to normal! A revival occurred five days after death. Yin Hai Yu Zun revived after His death and lived more than ten years since then. From that time to the time of His entering nirvana at the beginning of this year, the Elder Monk never had any illness or misfortune. The most mysterious and miraculous fact is that the Elder Dharma Master’s health was always as healthy as a young person from every physical examination He took. What happened this time was that the Elder Monk suddenly left the world in an instant of one second in a state that was totally free of any symptom of illness or calamity. Being able to live or die according to one’s own wish means one has truly realized the freedom from birth and death! In the earlier years, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai manifested many holy feats of miraculous transformation. After a miraculous transformation, His muscles and skins were as fine, tender, and smooth at that of a new-born baby. Furthermore, such holy state was maintained for as long as six years. This is the result of practicing the dharma of reversing old age back to youth in the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation. The miraculous transformation that the Holy Venerable manifested this time after entering nirvana once again prominently showed the high and profound stage and state of His realization and is an unprecedented holy event in the history of Buddhism. The Elder Dharma Master is the one and only holy venerable who manifested miraculous transformations after entering nirvana from ancient time to the present. He wrote a new holy chapter about nirvana in the history of Buddhism. Please ponder deeply again on who caused a dead person to revive. The cause is the Holy Venerable’s accomplishment and practice.

One of the two inscribing couplets written by a tremendously holy virtuous one for Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai (The text says, “Elder Dharma Master created a new chapter in the history of Buddhism, with a great transformation taking place 10 days after nirvana that changed His flesh body into a majestic face; The Eminent Monk broke old records on the religious calendar, 6 years ago while He was alive when His holy body powerfully manifested a miraculously different appearance.”)

WBAH is densely populated by outstanding persons and holy ones. From what I know, there are at least two Yu Zuns at the level of Golden Button Grade 4, two Shang Zuns at the level of Golden Button Grade 3, two Jiao Zuns at the level of Golden Button Grade 2, and four Ru Zuns at the level of Golden Button Grade 1. The Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions was presided in person by Yin Hai Yu Zun and Wang Zha Shang Zun, as well as Gekan Deqian Shile Yu Zun and Diou Ke Shang Zun. This sentence truly sounds miraculous, “The Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions was presided in person by Yin Hai Yu Zun,” a person who has already entered nirvana and is laying in His coffin. How could He preside over the holy assembly? Actually, “this death is really not a death.” The death of a flesh body is really a false death. Though Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai had died, various signs of life continued to appear, including the continual growth of His beard, gradual changing of His facial type from a thin and bony face to a fully figured one, having finer and tender skin day by day, and even the growing longer of His fingers. These phenomena went against the process of formation, abiding, decaying, and vanishing and manifested an appearance of reversing old age back to youth after death. Such change in one’s appearance can only appear as a result of practicing Buddha-dharma. This fact shows that the Elder Dharma Master’s spiritual existence is unlike that of an ordinary being which has to reply on a stinky body packed inside the skin and, rather, is the manifestation of the treasure from Buddha-dharma. A public announcement issued by UIWBAH pointed out the nature of this “Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions,” which means it is a grand dharma assembly of tremendous holiness. Specifically, it is a grand dharma assembly led by tremendously holy ones. For instance, the “Vulture Peak Dharma Assembly” held by Sakyamuni Buddha was over once it ended. There is no such a thing that any dharma master or holy virtuous one can hold his/her own “Vulture Peak Dharma Assembly” at any place. This is because the “Vulture Peak Dharma Assembly” was a specific and unique dharma assembly. As another example, the “Sutra-Gathering Assembly” held at Saptaparna-guha no longer exists after the meeting ended. Even if another 200 holy ones and Arhats gather there again to talk about and discuss the teachings from the sutras, there can never be a “Sutra-Gathering Assembly” again. The “Sutra-Gathering Assembly” is defined by its specific time, location, dharma matters, and presiding holy ones and is a unique dharma assembly with definitive characteristics.

Now let’s see how the curtain of this holy assembly of 100 sessions was lifted:

Due the limitation of the funeral home located in the Los Angeles area in the United States, there was no way to keep Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s flesh body there for too long. With the responsibility to make arrangement for the holy assembly of 100 sessions, Wang Zha Shang Zun decided on the eighth day to move the holy flesh body to the Kuan Yin Hall at a temple in the greater Los Angeles area that was not open to the public yet. At the moment when H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III consecrated the Kuan Yin Hall where the holy flesh body of Yin Hai Yu Zun was to be worshipped, a heavy rainstorm immediately stopped and the sky became completely blue without any cloud in sight. At that time, about 1000 vajra parrots (Note: the number is about 1000, not several dozens.) flew over from afar and encircled above the Kuan Yin Hall for several dozens of rounds. The roaring sound of the parrots was ear-trembling, as if the buildings and the ground were shaken. The parrots’ praising applause even caused swirling waves in a tea cup on the table. Please imagine how rare and magnificent the scene was! Their performance lifted the curtain for the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions. The arrival of such a crowd of about 1000 vajra parrots was extremely auspicious and magnificent.

After that, Wang Zha Shang Zun made the arrangement to have the seven types of Buddhist disciples chant sutras in front of the holy body every day. On each day, three dharma assemblies were held. During the entire period of 24 hours, there were always 6 to 8 people chanting the holy name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva without a pause. Since Holy Venerable Yin Hai had practiced The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation in combination with the dharma of Red Kuan Yin of Magnificent Ocean of Great Compassion, His holy body worshipped in the Kuan Yin Hall emitted special fragrant scent or light from time to time. Watched by all people’s eyes, the holy body underwent a miraculous transformation day by day. According to what I, a humble cultivator, saw with my own eyes from attending the three dharma assemblies every day for several consecutive days, the Yu Zun’s holy body gradually turned whiter and more delicate each day, His beard was growing day by day, and His facial complexion became more lively red every day. His appearance became more and more perfect and majestic as time went by. On the tenth day after His entering nirvana, with a permission from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, Great Dharma Masters Ruo Hui and Miao Kong who are the abbot and deputy abbot respectively of Hua Zang Si, Great Dharma Master Long Hui who is the head of Hua Zang Buddhist Institute, Abbot of the Pagoda Temple Xiongge Qiongwa and Long Zhou Rinpoche who are the co-founders of True Buddha-Dharma Center, Great Dharma Master Jue Hui of International Buddhism Sangha Association (IBSA) and others used their hands to touch the Yu Zun’s holy body and found that the holy body was as hard as a Vajra stone. Great Dharma Master Long Hui, who once performed the dharma of Five Thunder True Dharma Palm to break an orange tree at a distance of more than 10 feet, stated publicly that she purposely applied a large force to press the Yu Zun’s cheek which is typically the softest spot and her hand was reflected back. The Yu Zun’s muscle was as hard as a rock and exerted an unimaginably large force of reaction. This fact made the attending crowd realize in astonishment that the Yu Zun’s holy body leaped through the common procedure of waiting for three years while the holy body is covered by a large vase before checking whether the holy body of one who has attained very good accomplishment is incorruptible and turned into a whole-body relic after only ten days. Additionally, the holy body showed a miraculous transformation to manifest a perfectly majestic appearance!

Before transforming into a rainbow body, the remains of one who has attained a great accomplishment in Buddha-dharma cannot be touched by people. In particular, if contacted by one who has violated precepts of esoteric Buddhism, the invasion and disturbance of karmic force would prevent the body from transforming into a rainbow body. That was why Wang Zha Shang Zun was very angry about the more than 10 people who even touched the Yu Zun’s holy body. The Shang Zun said that, although the holy body had been touched by more than 10 people, it was fortunate that the Yu Zun was not affected due to the rather high stage and state He had attained. After that incident, no one was allowed to touch or contact the Elder Dharma Master’s holy body that had already turned into a Vajra body. Still, this incident did not affect the miraculous transformation incurred in the Yu Zun’s holy body.

The Yu Zun’s holy body rested in open space through the entire process without being stored in a freezer at all and was in the same chamber as the attending crowd was in. The coffin was only covered by a transparent acrylic encasement, to prevent dust brought up by the many people from contacting the holy body. According to common knowledge, after undergoing such a process for so many days, a person’s remains should have corrupted and should have been generating stinky smells long ago. However, the Yu Zun’s holy body only became more and more majestic as time went by. Cultivators who entered the hall where the coffin was rested felt an atmosphere of auspiciousness and peace, as if being in a different space that is filled with bliss. I drove there by myself. When I left during the day after a session of the dharma assembly had ended, the sky was always embellished by auspicious clouds. On a sunny day, the view was truly splendid and beautiful while hearing blissful bird singing along the way. When driving toward the temple in the evening, I saw the bright illumination of a clear moon surrounded by auspicious clouds. Sometimes, the Moon and the stars emitted competing light rays. The penetrating sound of clear and loud singing of birds crossed through the otherwise silent and tranquil sky embedded with stars.

According to the law of the United States of America, staff of a funeral home must move the body to the burying ground no later than the 32-th day. On the eve of the burial, the professionals working at the funeral home who came to examine the body found: After 31 days, the original physical characteristics of the Elder Monk lying in the coffin had totally disappeared; An elderly thin person with a protruding bony face full of wrinkles turned into a totally different person with a perfectly majestic appearance; His purely white beard not only grew longer and denser but also had three black strains added. Moreover, two of the fingers also grew longer. Facing such unprecedented magnificent scene, the professionals at the funeral home who had processed countless dead bodies were stunned and offered praises and respect repeatedly.

On the 32-th day, the Holy Monk’s revered body was moved to the holy site for burial and worshipping. Rituals and orders of Buddhism were followed. With four rinpoches including Gongga Rinp[oche, Chuanggu Tulku and others carrying the coffin, the holy body arrived at the holy site. When the dharma assembly of chanting sutras started, we saw several dozens of eagles circling above the holy site at a low vertical height of several stories from the attending crowd! In esoteric dharmas, eagles represent the Golden-Wing Garuda while crows represent the Mahakala Dharma Protector. The presence of a crowd of eagles encircling at the site symbolizes the arrival of the Golden-Wing Garuda to manifest the dharma and that Sakyamuni Buddha came! Also present were herds of crows representing the Mahakala Dharma Protector. They were lingering in the sky above the holy site, while singing praises in the language of birds. What did this fact show? It showed that the accomplishment of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai was praised by Sakyamuni Buddha!

After the site was moved from the Kuan Yin Hall to the holy place at the Rose Hills Memorial Park, the Holy Assembly of 100 Sessions continued to be held every day. At the start of each session of the dharma assembly, the staff members of the memorial park at the site saw that eagles and crows would fly over, with unusual body movements while flying and somewhat different tones of singing. They would immediately fly away at the end of the dharma assembly. Such holy manifestations and expressions of the dharma were certainly a part of leading the holy assembly by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai. By definition, the “Holy Assembly of 100 sessions” must comprise 100 dharma assemblies held and completed at the site that is where the Elder Dharma Master is.

Then, how did the holy assembly of 100 sessions conclude? On the day when the holy assembly of 100 sessions had the perfect ending, the great Los Angeles area was raining on the west side but the sky was clear on the east side. An extremely obvious double rainbow appeared in the sky. As the rainbow gradually faded away, two golden dragons emerged from the orange-colored afterglow, expressing the praises from both human and heaven realms. I specifically took a picture of this magnificent scene to share with all. Also, the trees of red flowers planted above the holy place had branches that had grown densely and fully bloomed with flowers all over the trees, showing a sign of prosperity. In contrast, the trees near other graves planted with the same spacing between them had only dried branches and almost completely withered flowers. I also took pictures to provide a proof of the magnificence of this holy place.

The accomplishment and holy realization of Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai achieved the status of “Yu Zun,” which represents the level of Golden Button Grade 4 in the system of grade levels published by UIWBAH. This level is only next to the level of Golden Button Grade 5, which is for Bodhisattvas with universal enlightenment or wonderful enlightenment. That is why Wang Zha Shang Zun called Him as the first-place holy monk in the current world. His accomplishment means He is not a common holy monk and, rather, He is a top-level holy monk. That is why he absolutely cannot be described with titles such as elder monk, great virtuous one, or elder dharma master.

A picture was taken on the day when the holy assembly of 100 sessions concluded perfectly. The holy site where Yin Hai Yu Zun’s holy body rests for worshipping is at the east side of the greater Los Angeles area and had a heavy rain. In the west direction, the sky was completely clear. Two arc-shaped rainbows appeared in the rainy side of east. The first one, the inner ring, was extremely bright. The dark colored areas between two rainbows resembled an arc-shaped heavenly path with seven-colored borders. The lower-left picture shows the gradual fading of the two rainbows. Within the orange-colored afterglow, two hazy golden dragons could be seen.

With the perfect conclusion of such magnificent holy assemblies of 100 sessions, what kind of merit was produced? The merit is greater than that accumulated from holding several thousand or even several ten thousand sessions of dharma assemblies. The opportunity of attending such a holy assembly is truly hard to encounter even in millions of kalpas. Wang Zha Shang Zun who is at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 will hold the Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam for cultivators who have a perfect attendance of the 100 sessions of the holy assembly. The merit required for receiving this Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam cannot be achieved by a common cultivator even after cultivating for several thousand or more than ten thousand lifetimes. However, a cultivator who had perfect attendance of the 100 sessions of the holy assembly can gain such merit. During the initiation, your yidam will come to the mandala in person to have a conversation with you and transmit the dharma to you. This is because the merit from the Holy Assembly will give rise to special karmic conditions. It was said that another such holy event took place in this world about 2000 years ago. The attendees dedicated the merit to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to gather tremendous merit in return to increase their benefits and resources for cultivation. The fact is that the Yu Zun does not need them to assist with the chanting. Rather, the purpose of their chanting Buddhas’ names and reciting sutras is to take advantage of the Elder Dharma Master’s empowerment to create and perfect their resources for cultivation. How could Buddhas and Bodhisattvas need people with stinky bodies of five turbidities to assist with their chanting? Even if you chanted for 1000 years, the merit accumulated would still be less than the Elder Dharma Master’s merit from practicing the dharma for just one day.

Yin Hai Yu Zun was a hidden practitioner with great cultivation. Not much about the Elder Monk was known to the outside world. The Yu Zun once wrote this verse, “Since ancient times holy and kind ones mostly live in loneliness. Actually only ones hiding from the world leave their names in history. One should never do anything evil and should do all acts of kindness, have a heart of great compassion and be free of any evil or fraud. Your origin does not belong to any sect or school. You should accumulate merit from doing goodness to enter the door to the dharma. To quest true Buddha-dharma at the summit level, follow me to become a student of the School of Buddha.”

The School of Buddha represents authentic Buddhism and is not a sect of any patriarch. The fact is that the School of Buddha affiliates directly with the teaching and dharma transmission by the Buddha in person and has no classification in terms of various sects and schools of later generations. Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai also told the Shang Zun that the best and the highest Buddha-dharma of cultivation is The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation. The Vajra dharma transmitted by Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai to the Shang Zun is not just solely in exoteric Buddhism or esoteric Buddhism and, rather, is directly in the Buddha’s Buddhism. For example, the Diamond Sutra mentioned the Eight Great Vajras, including Ucchusma Vajra (the Filthy Vajra) of Tang (Tang is a dynasty in the history of mandarin China.) Esoteric Buddhism and Kalachakra Vajra and Yamantaka Vajra of Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism. In which sect or school should these Vajras be categorized? The truth is that They simply are not in the lineage or dharma tradition of any sect or school and directly belong to authentic Buddhism. Therefore, They are in the School of Buddha rather than the dharma lineages of patriarch masters and belong to pure Buddhism.

People wish to know the feats and events in Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai’s life. I once interviewed a Buddhist disciple with the last name of Tang. From what he remembered, it was around the year of 1980 or 37 years ago when he was assigned to go to the airport to receive Elder Monk Yin Hai who was returning to Sichuan after visiting France. At that time, there were eight people who were abbots and khenpos in the Elder Monk’s entourage. This Buddhist disciple, Mr. Tang, said that he felt that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai was very kind and polite. From the two walking distances of from getting off the airplane to the receiving vehicle and from getting out of the vehicle to the lodging room at the hotel, he noticed that the Elder Dharma Master’s feet were always floating in the air, at a distance of 4 to 5 centimeters above the ground! This observation left a very deep impression in him. Later, Master Wan Ko Yee Museum was built in the Dayi County of Sichuan Province. One day before the Museum’s grand opening, Elder Dharma Master Pu Guan who was the 13-th patriarch of Mt. Emei and also the abbot of Kaihua Temple at Mt. Wuzhong which was the first stop in the spread of Buddhism southward, Elder Dharma Master Tong Hui who was the abbot of Long Ju Temple, and Elder Dharma Master Guo Zhang who was the abbot of Jie Wang Temple accompanied Holy Monk Yin Hai to the Master’s Museum. They were disciples of Holy Monk Yin Hai. At that time, the Museum was still under construction with dust and mud all over the site. Also, it had been raining for several days. The road was covered with thin mud and cement paste just mixed for construction. As they walked from the gate of the Jinghuishan Park to the site of the Museum, the path was completely wet and covered with puddles and mud. People had to step on pieces of bricks to go in. With the previous experience, he paid special attention to Holy Monk Yin Hai’s feet. He said that, after walking through the muddy road surface to enter the Kuan Yin Hall, everyone’s shoes were very dirty with lots of mud. The only exception was Holy Monk Yin Hai, whose shoes of white bottoms were completely clean without any mud stain. As He walked inside the Kuan Yin Hall, the path behind Him was completely clean, without any footprints. Simply speaking, Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai did not walk on the ground to get to the Kuan Yin Hall. Rather, He traveled forward while floating above the road surface! This scene was seen by many of the people who were present.

If you have a good memory, can you recall the historic incident when Master Bodhidharma, the first patriarch of the Zen School, crossed a large river using a stick of reed? Some people saw that Patriarch Bodhidharma picked up a stick of reed and then stepped onto it to cross the river, without taking a ferry boat. The state of accomplishment that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai manifested demonstrated exactly the ability to offset gravity and walk in the air. Then, are walking without touching the ground and walking on a surface of water the same thing? What do you think? As I write here, this is the right place to mention the karmic affinity between Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai and Wang Zha Shang Zun who is at the level of Golden Button Grade 3.

Wang Zha Shang Zun spoke about the rising of the affinity that caused He and Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai to know each other. The affinity was related to a surface of water. Several decades ago and at the Jinsha River (a big river separating Tibet and Sichuan Province), Wang Zha Shang Zun saw Elder Monk Yin Hai walking on the surface of water to cross the river. From the river bank, He prostrated to the Elder Monk. The Elder Monk turned His face back and asked loudly, “Why do you prostrate to me?” Holding His palms together, Wang Zha asked, “Holy monk, what is this dharma?” The Elder Monk replied, “Dharma has no fixed name. Form is emptiness. Floating on the surface of water is a skin-shallow manifestation.” Wang Zha Shang Zun asked, “Can you keep teaching me the profound esoteric dharma?” The Elder Monk said, “The Vajra Battle Position can recognize and distinguish what is upright and what is evil, and can destroy demons into ashes.” From then on, Wang Zha Shang Zun followed the Elder Monk to enter a cave in a deep mountain to practice the profound dharma in retreat.

Wang Zha Shang Zun said that the Elder Dharma Master’s holy realization and cultivated power are very great and strong. The Shang Zun said that, in His early years, He practiced the dharma together with Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai in a cave in a deep mountain. At that time, the Shang Zun once accidentally saw that the nine precept-scars on top of the Elder Dharma Master’s head emitted light rays that illuminated the completely dark retreat chamber as if it was under open daylight to instantly save living beings of non-human realms to higher realms. The Shang Zun also said that Elder Monk Yin Hai transmitted the dharma of Vajra Battle Position to Him. Additionally He became a disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III through the introduction by the Elder Monk. To express His gratitude to the unlimited kindness and virtue from the Elder Monk, the Shang Zun wrote a verse using the official-script style of Chinese calligraphy, which says, “The merit of Monk Yin Hai shines splendidly the sky and the ground. The nine holes of His precept-scars once emitted light to illuminate a dark retreat room. This greatly compassionate and accomplished one cultivating in seclusion has left His name to the world. Following His wish, He has returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the World of Ultimate Bliss. After entering nirvana, the flesh body of this holy venerable one will undergo a miraculous transformation. A new holy chapter of nirvana will be written in the history of Buddhism. In the past He and I practiced together in retreat in a cave in a deep mountain. Later we both went to the teaching of true Buddha-dharma and became close to the Buddha. In February 2017, WBAH published two contrasting visages of Holy Monk Yin Hai, one taken at 11 hours after His entering nirvana and the other showing the miraculous transformation occurred 10 days later, another visage of Holy Monk Yin Hai taken some years ago, and the Verse of Praise written by Wang Zha Shang Zun, for the seven types of Buddhist disciples to request respectively. Wang Zha Shang Zun said that He and Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai had received initiations of state practice and the initiation of Buddha-bestowed nectar from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai is a great holy one who came again from the World of Ultimate Bliss to fulfill His vow and a greatly accomplished one in the dharma of Red Kuan Yin of Magnificent Ocean of Great Compassion Practiced with The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation. He has now returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the Pure Land.

As I write to this point, I would like to remind all readers. Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai has left this world, since He attained great accomplishment and returned to His upper-level lotus seat in the World of Ultimate Bliss. As cultivators, we should ask: Where is the source of His accomplishment? Can we also attain the accomplishment like Him to go to the lotus seats in the World of Ultimate Bliss? Would H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III meet me? How should we look for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to take refuge in, become His disciple, and learn the dharma? Only that is the greatest voice of good fortune that Elder Dharma Master Yin Hai brought to cultivators. Think about this: As soon as Wang Zha Shang Zun saw Elder Monk Yin Hai walking on the surface of water, He immediately became His disciple and followed Him to practice in retreat in a mountain cave to pursue accomplishment wholeheartedly. This is similar to the situation with Hui Ke, the second patriarch of the Zen School. After knocking off Master Bodhidharma’s teeth, he tried to follow him and chased him to the river side. There, he was told by the mariner that Master Bodhidharma had already crossed the river by stepping on a stick of reed without taking a ferry. He immediately realized that what he did was wrong and went to Master Bodhidharma to beseech the dharma. With a firm determination, he severed an arm to color the snow with his blood, to meet Master Bodhidharma’s requirement that he could only be transmitted the dharma if red snow came down from the sky. Now H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is staying in this world due to the karmic affinities and holds such supreme Buddha-dharma that can truly liberate living beings to ascend to the World of Ultimate Bliss where beings can rely on mental contemplation to enjoy food, clothing, eternal bliss, and the absence of impermanence. Aren’t we fools if we do not look for His Holiness the Buddha to be received and be transmitted with the dharma? Do we still want to be pulled by karmic forces in the six realms of transmigration or to be deluded by the hollow teachings given by those so-called great holy ones who cannot even guarantee themselves when their life is about to end? One who mistakenly follows a false holy one will transmigrate between birth and death in the six realms of samsara without a date to exit and will have endless suffering without the possibility of being liberated!

Let’s not talk about the fortunate affinity we have to pay respect to and meet H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for now. Wang Zha Shang Zun who is a disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is already a truly great holy one. I once had the opportunity to take part in a session of the large form of the Eight-Wind Battle Position and saw in person the real manifestation of Buddha-dharma. Wang Zha Shang Zun used a rope to circle a zone on the ground to establish the levels of golden button(s). Then, absolutely no one could step into the ring encircled by the rope. Anyone getting close was bounced up and then fell to the ground and knocked unconscious. Let me ask, which great dharma king or great dharma master in today’s world has such true and real Buddha-dharma? I can say that there is simply not even one! Regardless of how high the statue or how big the fame, dharma kings or holy ones simply do not have true Buddha-dharma that can let people see the effect. They only have hollow speeches. Isn’t this true?
